street food in Tokyo

Tokyo is a city teeming with food. Not only can you find some of the most delicious sushi in the world here, but you can also find some of the best ramen, yakitori and street food. If you’re looking for some cheap eats, then it’s time to grab your chopsticks and head out into the streets of Tokyo! Here are a few tips for finding some tasty treats in different areas within Tokyo:

Asakusa

Asakusa is one of the oldest districts in Tokyo and a well-known tourist destination. It’s also known for its traditional culture, as well as a vibrant nightlife scene. Asakusa is home to many festivals, including Kaminari Gyoza Festival (July 1st), Sumo Tournament (January), Kappabashi Street Festival (September) and Fireworks Display (December).

Asakusa is home to some great street food options! To start with, try taiyaki at Asakusa Yatai Kaikan: they make their own taiyaki batter from scratch every day! You can find them next to Sensoji Temple on Nakamise Street or near Jizo-Sando street at Kaminarimon Gate. If you want something savory then try grilled yakitori skewers from Yakatori Tenma restaurants across town—they have several locations around town so you’re sure not far away! Finally if sweet treats are more your thing then stop by Hoshino Coffee & Ice Cream shops across town—their matcha parfaits are awesome!

Shinjuku

Shinjuku is a great place to find street food in Tokyo, particularly the Kabukicho area. The streets of Shinjuku are lined with food stalls that sell everything from grilled skewers to oden (boiled fish cakes). If you’re looking for something more substantial, try one of the many ramen shops or restaurants nearby.

In addition to its many restaurants and bars, Shinjuku also has several parks that offer an opportunity for relaxation after your meal. You can find some great street food at these locations as well!

The Shinjukugyoen National Garden is a beautiful space filled with trees and greenery where visitors can stop by for a quick bite to eat before enjoying its extensive green landscape.

Shibuya

If you want to sample the best of Tokyo street food, Shibuya should be your first stop. This area is famous for its restaurants, cafes and bars. At night, Shibuya becomes a nightlife hub with countless nightclubs and bars in the heart of the city. There are many vending machines selling different kinds of food items in this area as well!

If you’re looking for something fun to do at night with friends, then visiting Shibuya is a great idea!
