1. Indo-Chinese Street Food Recipes

2. Samosa-Stuffed Manchurian Balls

Ingredients:

For the Manchurian balls:

1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups cabbage, shredded
1½ cups carrots, shredded
1 cup onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup water

For the samosa filling:

2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ teaspoon Garam Masala
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt

For the assembly:

20 wonton wrappers
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons oil
1 cup water

Instructions:

1. To make the Manchurian balls, heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, ginger, and green chili. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper. Add this to the vegetables and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

3. Add the water and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.

4. To make the samosa filling, mix together the mashed potatoes, onion, green chili, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, Garam Masala, cilantro, lemon juice, and salt in a medium bowl.

5. To assemble the Manchurian balls, place a wonton wrapper on a work surface. Brush the edges with the beaten egg. Place 2 teaspoons of the potato mixture in the center of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling, pressing to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

6. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Manchurian balls and cook for 2 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Add the water and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened. Serve hot.
